I’m Anna Schatte, an Austin-based actress, writer, and filmmaker making character-driven comedy.
I write and produce original shorts, pop-culture parodies, and branded work with Austin production company Various Characters. My work has been featured by TIME, People Magazine, and Alamo Drafthouse’s cult-favorite pre-shows.
I make retro parody work, inserting myself into vintage commercials with a dangerously large wig collection.
My debut feature screenplay Pleasant Child was a Silver Winner at the 2025 Southwest Film Festival Screenplay Competition and a finalist at Austin Film Festival, The Script Lab, and ScreenCraft Film Fund.
My most recent short comedy Man-Child premiered at Austin’s iconic Hyperreal Film Club. I’m currently developing my debut feature Not About Him, a female-led indie comedy set in Austin, with production planned for Spring 2026.
When I’m not working, I’m usually with my senior dachshund, Bazooka, or convincing myself that reality TV counts as research.
